He is the latest addition to our stallion roster, a choice backed by an outstanding CV. Proof is certainly true to his name, boasting an array of exceptional qualities that make him a benchmark prospect, with few, if any, equals.
His pedigree is impeccable. His sire, Dubawi, has established himself as a leading sire of sires, with such stars as Night Of Thunder, Zarak, Too Darn Hot, New Bay and Ghaiyyath. On the dam’s side, Proof belongs to one of the Wertheimer family’s finest and most prolific female lines, which includes Arc winner Solemia, as well as Authorized and Green Dancer, both of whom have left their mark at stud.
His dam, Mathématicienne, has produced eight winners, including six black-type performers. Among them are Matematica, runner-up in the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac, and Soustraction, winner of the Gr.3 Prix d’Aumale. These mares have continued to shine at stud, with Matematica producing Data, runner-up in the latest edition of the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac. The family also includes Hypotenus, who has recorded two placed efforts over hurdles in Ireland at Grade 3 level.
Proof’s own achievements speak for themselves. Placed at the highest level at two, when finishing third in the Gr.1 Critérium de Saint-Cloud, he returned at three to win the LR Prix Pelléas on his seasonal reappearance, before signing off his racing career with a third-place finish in the Gr.2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano. He raced just six times, yet had already established himself as a top-class performer over 2,000 metres.
