The border between top-class globetrotter to internationally-renowned stallion is sometimes porous. This is the case for a few exceptional racehorses, and Joshua Tree (Montjeu) belongs to this rare collection. Successful on the track from two to six years old, he boasts seven victories including three at Group 1 level, and he completed a hat-trick in the Gr.1 Canadian International to become the record-holder in the Woodbine feature. A brilliant juvenile in Ireland and Great Britain, including a notable success in the Gr.2 Royal Lodge Stakes, he won the International Invitation Cup in Qatar as a four-year-old and the Gr.2 Prix Kergorlay at Deauville in France at five years old. With earnings approaching the 3 million Euro mark, Joshua Tree is the fourth-richest progeny of Montjeu of all time. 

At stud, his influence echoes his career as a warrior on the track. He counts legions of black-type winners over jumps on both sides of the Channel. IRISH POINT (two Gr.1 in Ireland and Great Britain), YOUTWO GLASS (Gr.2 at Auteuil, Gr.3 at Pau), Metasequoia (2nd in the Gr.2 Prix Murat and Gr.3 Robert de Clermont Tonnerre), Jeroboam Machin (Champion Bumper in Ireland), Politha (Listed at Auteuil) and Hawai Tree (Listed at Compiègne) form a long but non-exhaustive list of his best performers, to which should be added Justine Star on the flat, multiple placed in AQPS Group contests. Plenty to make Joshua Tree an international treasure, bequeathed to Cercy-la-Tour. And the treasure has yet to reveal its finest jewels.
